今回の挑戦は、ゴアの魅力のご紹介。

Goa is an old and historical city. 

In 1498, Vasco da Gama who was Portuguese man found ocean route via Cape-town in Africa to India. Until then, Goa was Islamic city. After that, in 1510, Goa became dominated by portuguese. In 1542, Francisco de Javier reached Goa. In 1548, he took a missionary tour from Goa to Japan.

Goa became a city of mix culture of the East, India and Portuguese. Goa was called " Rome of the East", "City of gold, Goa".

ゴアは歴史ある古い街。
1498年、ポルトガル人のバスコ・ダ・ガマは、アフリカのケープタウン経由のインド航路を発見する。それまでイスラムの都市であったゴアは、発見後、1510年にポルトガルに支配される。1542年、フランシスコ・ザビエルがインドに着き、1548年には、宣教のためにゴアから日本に旅立つ。
ゴアは、東洋、インド、ポルトガルの文化がミックスされ、”東洋のローマ”、”黄金の街、ゴア”と呼ばれた。

During recent years, India was independent from England in 1947. Also, India got back Goa from Portuguese in 1961. 

Then, Goa became the resort city and then it became the holy land for backpackers and then became the city of drugs and music. In the 1990s, the music of "goa-trance" was created in Goa. Recent trance music is based on this goa-trance.

近年、1947年にインドはイギリスから独立する。ゴアは1961年にポルトガルから取り返された。
その後、ゴアはリゾートの地となり、バックパッカーの聖地となった後、音楽とドラッグの街と化す。1990年代には、ゴア-トランスと呼ばれる、今のトランスミュージックのベースとなる音楽がゴアより発信された。

Now, Goa is the real resort. It is the best place to go for normal tourist. I don’t know how it is like in the club at night.

今のゴアは、真のリゾート地。通常の旅行であれば、本当に良いところ。夜のクラブはちょっとわかんないけど。

Goa is coastal city which is located in the southwest of India. So, there is a lot of fresh seafood in Goa like this photo.

ゴアは、インド南西に位置する海岸の街。だから、こんな写真のように新鮮な魚介類がたくさん。

I have been living in north India, so I haven't eaten fresh seafood very much. I enjoyed seafood as Goan food. Goan food is the mix of Indian and Portuguese food. In the past, I ate Macau food which was also the mix of Indian, Portuguese and Chinese food (Also, Macau was colony of Portuguese.). A long time ago, not only Christianity but also many cultures including food culture came down with the missionaries. You can really understand it if you eat the Goan local food.

北インドに住んでるので、なかなか新鮮な魚介は食べれない。今回はゴア料理として堪能。ゴア料理は、ポルトガル料理とインド料理のミックス。そういえば、昔食べたマカオ料理は、ポルトガル料理、インド料理、中華料理のミックス（マカオもポルトガルの植民地）。長い歴史で、宣教師がキリスト教と一緒に、食を含む文化を伝来させたことを、ローカルフードを食べて妙に納得。

Goa is the most popular place to honeymoon among Indians. It is not only the exoticism place but  also very beautiful city which is surprisingly not dusty unlike other Indian cities. I really recommend you to go to Goa on vacation. I will explain you in the next post about the city in Goa.
