Overseas voting at embassy of Japan in India

This is the doorplate of embassy of Japan in India.
This is my challenging story to go to the embassy of Japan for overseas voting.

Japan is a bicameral national assembly. The 23rd regular election of House of Councilors in Japan will be held this weekend (21.July.2013). We cannot go to Japan for voting. But we are eligible to vote from overseas. So I went to the embassy of Japan for voting. Non-resident of Japan like me has to get a voting card in advance from Ministry of internal Affairs and Communications of Japan before they go to vote. This card gives us a permission of overseas voting.

I went to the gate of the embassy of Japan, but the gate guard man said I had to go to other gate. I made a search for the other gate which is consular office’s gate.

Embassy of Japan in India has really beautiful Japanese garden. I have never seen it before, because it is not easy to go inside. In contrast, consular office of Japan in Delhi, India is not exciting to me at all. It is just a common old building like this photo. Like prison.

I did  two types of vote this time. One is proportional representation. The other is multiple-seat electoral district. Voting of proportional representation was easy for me because I just write down a name of political party. But Voting of multiple-seat electoral district was very difficult, because I had to choose a candidate from the district where I  had lived just before leaving Japan. I didn't know each candidate. So, I just chose a name from which party the candidate belonged to. Which was not much more than how I chose a proportional representation.

I hope Japan's economic growth. Of course I'll make a lot of effort with my business in India to make Japan's economy grow, too. Well, I'd rather look forward to seeing Japan’s economy growth after voting than the result of the voting.
Did you go to vote in Japan??
