Tour of the World Heritage Part IV "Humayun's Tomb” in Delhi 世界遺産ツアーIV フマユン廟

This is the Humayun's Tomb in Delhi.

This is my challenging story to go to Humayun's Tomb of world heritage in Delhi.

これはデリー、フマユン廟。

今回は、世界遺産デリーのフマユン廟訪問に挑戦。

The second emperor of Mughal Empire, Humayun. His wife ordered to construct the tomb for her husband when he was unfortunately dead after conquering north India.

ムガル帝国ニ番目の皇帝フマユン、彼の妻はフマユンが北インドを制圧した後になくなったことを受けて、王のために墓廟として作らせたもの。

This tomb was influenced by Islamic culture everywhere, because she was a committed Islamist. So Humayun's tomb garden was made as chahr bagh style which is completely split into tetrameric.

この墓はフマユンの妻が敬虔なイスラム教徒であったので、イスラムの影響が随所に。このため、庭はチャハール・バーグ様（四分庭園）。

So, the tomb is the same shape from any direction.

だから、どの方角から見ても同じ形に見える。

This garden was originally made as the Islamic paradise in heaven. I felt that the view was like a clip from a Japanese animation movie, "Laputa, the Castle of the Sky".

この庭は、イスラムの天空の楽園を想像してつくられたもの。この景色は、天空の城ラピュタを感じる。

At sunset, a beautiful sunlight seeped through an arch window  which was called Iwan.

日没時、アーチ上の窓イーワンから綺麗な光が差し込む。

Actually, Humayun's Tomb was the last location of the Mughal Empire when it ended its era. Bahadur Shah II,the last emperor of the Mughal Empire, capitulate to the England forces here in the middle of Indian’s Mutiny.

実は、フマユン廟はムガル帝国最後の地である。バハードゥル・シャー二世はインド大反乱の中、この地でイギリス軍に降伏。

Well, Humayun's Tomb is also famous for giving influene to the architectural style of Taj Mahal. Humayun's Tomb is one of the best Islamic architectures in India.

フマユン廟は、タージマハルの建築に影響を与えたことでも有名。フマユン廟は、インドに残るイスラム様式建築の最高傑作の一つ。
